The Woodridge Warriors Youth Organization (WWYO) was established in 1963 to improve the quality of life and ensure the positive development of children, youth and their families in Washington, DC. WWYO has for over 54 years provided the youth of the Washington metropolitan area with top-flight football, baseball, basketball and cheerleading instruction and competition. Our volunteers have worked diligently over the years to promote positive behavior in our youth and to help them open up the world of opportunity and success based on the principles of Desire, Dedication and Discipline.
The Woodridge Warriors Youth Organization (WWYO) recent decision to move to age-level competition is a reflection of the national trend in youth football to organize teams on the basis of age instead of weight. Rest assured that our organization conducted an extensive evaluation of the pros and cons of this move with the primary consideration being the safety and well-being of our participants. The Woodridge Warrior Board, Executive Director and Coaching Staff remains committed to providing your child with quality instruction and competition in an environment that promotes community building and positive growth.
And as always, WWYO thanks you for your support.
Baseball Workouts Are Now Underway
Our Woodridge Warrior baseball program is one of our signature programs. We specialize in tailoring our coaching and programming to meet our players’ needs. Through our program, our younger players gain confidence, improve coordination, and learn to appreciate the joys of teamwork and sportsmanship while learning the rules of the game.
For our youngest players, we focus on developing their fundamental skills such as throwing, fielding, hitting, catching and base-running. While these continue to serve as points of emphasis for our older players, we also instill the principles of competition. At WWYO, we provide a comprehensive baseball program designed to meet the needs of all our players.
Boys and girls from ages 5-15 are eligible to participate in the WWYO Baseball Program.
