The Woodridge Warriors Youth Organization (WWYO) was established in 1963 to improve the quality of life and ensure the positive development of children, youth and their families in Washington, DC. WWYO has for over 54 years provided the youth of the Washington metropolitan area with top-flight football, baseball, basketball and cheerleading instruction and competition. Our volunteers have worked diligently over the years to promote positive behavior in our youth and to help them open up the world of opportunity and success based on the principles of Desire, Dedication and Discipline.
The Woodridge Warriors Youth Organization (WWYO) recent decision to move to age-level competition is a reflection of the national trend in youth football to organize teams on the basis of age instead of weight. Rest assured that our organization conducted an extensive evaluation of the pros and cons of this move with the primary consideration being the safety and well-being of our participants. The Woodridge Warrior Board, Executive Director and Coaching Staff remains committed to providing your child with quality instruction and competition in an environment that promotes community building and positive growth.
And as always, WWYO thanks you for your support.
Woodridge Warriors Basketball Workouts Are Now Underway
Learn the game like a pro! The WWYO basketball program has partnered with International Stars Basketball Academy (ISBA), founded by Coach Quincy Wadley. Through this partnership, our players learn the fundamentals of basketball skills and techniques. Some key elements include ball handling, footwork, agility, shooting, offense and defense positioning, basketball I.Q and more!
Our teams compete in the DC Parks and Recreation League. Additionally, when the opportunities are available, our players participate in local tournaments and leagues within our region.
